Console Wars

For about the last two years the "Console Wars" seam to find there way into almost ever conversation about gaming. Now I'm not sure what you think about all this, but I'm quite honestly tired of hearing the raging battles over witch system is better. So I'm thankful to know that this holiday season will put a stop to all rumors and rubbish and a winner will be declared.

Going into the holiday season Microsoft has the biggest advantage, with a year up on Nintendo and Sony as well as having plenty of systems on the shelf Microsoft hopes to hit the 10 million milestone by Christmas. Sony's PS3 is trailing in last place with not even a half million systems sold yet, and only having sold about half the systems they projected to have by now. Why is this? A recent poll of gamers shows that 45% of gamers believe it is due to the lack of systems, this is also Sony official excuse. 55% of people believe that Sony simply isn’t the better system. On top of that a recent study by 1up shows that 80% of gamers could not tell the difference in graphics between the 360 and PS3. With that said the Wii is on track to surpass their goal of four million systems. I personally believe that Nintendo has the best business model out of the three, I mean face it, it’s addictively fun and while it is not Hi-Def…if you are at a store and you see those daunting price tags of 600, 400, 250 I would have to believe the majority, while not all would go for the 250 and call it a day, especially if it is a gift.

Anyways lets let the numbers do the talking. All stats are real time.
